NANDA-SUNANDA, Art Print
This artwork illustrates Maa Nanda-Sunanda, a prominent local deity of Uttarakhand. Many traditional motifs were incorporated, like the "Pahari nath" and "Pichoda" in the backdrop, a Kumaoni attire used as a head cover by married women on auspicious occasions.
Kumaoni folk art of Uttarakhand called "Aipan" has been embodied.
During the Nandaashtami festival, Devi idols made with the Kadli (banana tree) adorned with silver jewellery.Locals in Uttarakhand refer to the twin peaks of Nanda Devi and Nanda Devi East as the goddesses Nanda Devi and Sunanda Devi, respectively.
